Bloomsburg's Kellock Wins 5K at Paul Kaiser Classic

BLOOMSBURG- The Bloomsburg University track and field team competed at the Paul Kaiser Classic held at Shippensburg University this weekend. Highlighting the event for the Huskies was freshman Andrea Kellock (Lansdale/North Penn) who won the 5,000-meter race.

Running just her third ever 5K, Kellock qualified for the conference championships by taking first place in a time of 19:00.48. Also finishing in the top ten was sophomore Michelle Jansen (Warrington/Central Bucks South) who ran a 20:10.13.

In the 3,000-meters, Ashley Schuck (Milton/Milton) also qualified for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships by placing second overall in a time of 10:49.30.

For the men, Mike Dalton (Lake Hopatcong, NJ/Pope John XXIII) took 8th place out of 62 runners in the 1,500-meters, finishing in a time of 4:08.34. Also finishing strong for Bloomsburg was Matt Krum (Hatfield/North Penn) who ran a 1:59.26 in the 800 meters.

The Huskies will be back in action at Shippensburg again this weekend when they compete in the PSAC Outdoor Championships.
